  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Woods Clean Energy business is currently recruiting for a Renewable Energy Consultant in their Advisory Services Group, based in Glasgow.

     

    The purpose of the role is to undertake specific tasks relating to delivery of our various due diligence assignments, at the direction of/under the supervision of the project managers and/or ASG team leaders.

      

    When undertaking the role of project manager: Act as main interface and manage the relationship with key clients, and take responsibility for the financial performance of any projects managed.

     

    Take responsibility for delivering tasks assigned by project managers and/or team leaders on time, to budget and to the required standards.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assess renewable energy projects on behalf of lenders, investors, vendors and other project stakeholders
    • If acting as a PM, manage multi-discipline teams of engineers (and other technical staff) in the completion of due diligence assignments for exacting clients
    • Attend client meetings and undertake site visits within the UK and globally
    • Represent the company at conferences and seminars in order to enhance personal knowledge or establish business development leads, at the direction of the Group Director Follow up on leads to generate fresh work
    • Assist graduate engineers and less experienced team members
    • Responsibility for ensuring continuing professional development

    Skills / Qualifications

    Skills:

    • Good communication skills (written, verbal, aural)
    • Excellent report writing skills
    • Ability to project manage smaller assignments, and act as deputy PM with guidance on larger assignments
    • Understanding of technical aspects of renewable energy infrastructure projects.

    Desirable:

    • Understanding of commercial aspects of renewable energy infrastructure projects (including project finance)
    • Ability to speak a second language, preferably French or Spanish
    • Competent user of Microsoft Word and Excel
    • Driving licence

    Experience:

    • 2 years post-graduate experience in an engineering or other relevant role

    Desirable:

    • Experience in the development, construction and operation of onshore and offshore wind energy projects
    • Experience in conducting lenders technical advisor assignments
    • Experience working offshore or working at heights

     

    Qualifications:

     

    Required:

    • Educated to degree level in Engineering or another relevant technical subject

    Optional:

    •  Membership of a relevant technical body which offers chartered options
