  • Overview / Responsibilities

     

    Wood is currently recruiting for a Lead Electrical Engineer with extensive experience in the oil and gas industry supporting Engineering design for an ongoing EPCm contract on a 6/2 Rotation in Baku, Azerbaijan.

     

    Responsibilities:

     

    • Provides coaching and mentoring of direct reports
    • Actively supports recruitement, selection, transfers and promotion of resources to meet succession and business plans
    • Support the development and retention of key employees
    • Ensures competence of deputies
    • Manages performance of direct reports
    • Supporting and supervising tasks delegated to direct reports.
    • Management of key stakeholders in the execution and delivery of contracted activities
    • Manage and direct resources efficiently and effectively
    • Perform the role of Technical Authority when appointed to do so
    • Able to manage the project discipline team and achieve objectives with resources available
    • Shall be conversant in preparation & review of single line diagrams, electrical load list, schematics/block diagrams, equipment data sheets, cable sizing calculations, equipment (Transformers, Switchgears, MCC, Motors, UPS & Batteries, VFD) sizing, selection and specifications, Job packs etc.,
    • Able to perform electrical power system studies using software such as ETAP / PTW / EDSA or any similar
    • Shall be conversant with electrical design deliverables such as equipment layouts, earthing & lightning protection, lighting, cable tray/rack layouts, Trace heating drawings, Hazardous area classification, cathodic protection etc.,
    • Analyze complex engineering problems and offer effective resolutions
    • Undertake checking and approval activities in accordance with company procedures.
    • Undertake internal QA checks on discipline activities and deliverables
    • Ensures compliance with relevant laws, codes standards and practices.
    • Procurement support activities both for discipline and inter-disciplines such as preparation of material requisition, technical queries, bid analysis/evaluation, vendor document reviews etc.
    • Plan, schedule and conduct work requiring
    • Provides training, mentoring and technical guidance to electrical engineers and designers working in the group

    Skills / Qualifications

     

    • Qualified to Msc, MEng or equivalent qualifivation or BSc, BEng or equivalent with extensive relevant experience
    • Chartered Engineer or recognised equivalent
