  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Estimator to join our Process Technology and Consulting Business in the Reading office on a staff basis.

     

    The successful candidate will have strong estimating experience within a fabrication, package equipment, bespoke product supply or related business, preferably within the O&G sector.

     

    • To be responsible for the estimating of complete lump sum design and supply projects
    • To liaise during the estimating phase between various members of the engineering, project management, proposals and procurement disciplines to develop the estimate
    • Review specifications, drawings, and attend meetings, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate
    • Ability and experience to both lead and contribute to all aspects of estimates, including using factored approaches, developing detailed MTOs from drawings and specifications, developing in house unit rates and maximising estimate accuracy using specific quotes from the market
    • Ensure all working documents and data are maintained to back-up estimate figures
    • To assemble and present a professional estimate with the tools and systems available
    • Comply with Wood Code of Business Conduct, Anti Bribery and Corruption undertakings and the Wood mandatory and fundamental procedures

     

     

     

     

    Skills / Qualifications

    • HNC in Engineering Discipline or degree in appropriate discipline would be preferable
    • Demonstrable Experience of estimating the cost of designing and supplying combustion equipment or similar equipment would be desirable
    • Experience of estimating the cost of designing and supplying bespoke equipment packages, fabricated equipment items or similar in support of lump sum quotations is required
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
    • Proficient in IT Skills, with a strong working knowledge of Excel and Word as a minimum
