  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is currently bidding for a project in Kazakhstan. If awarded the work, we will have a requirement for a Lead HSE Engineer on a 28/28 rotation.

     

    • Establishing and monitoring SSHE policies, goals and objectives
    • Developing Project SSHE plans and interface documents.
    • Establishing and management of SSHE interfaces with Client, sub-contractors and fabricators.
    • Ensuring compliance and alignment of all discipline activities with Wood safety, security, health and environmental policies.
    • Establishment and management of project continuous improvement processes.
    • Compilation of certification management system.
    • Safety, Security, Health and Environmental reviews of engineering deliverables and implementation work packs.
    • Monitoring and audit of sub-contractor and fabricator performance to ensure compliance with project requirements.
    • Managing project induction processes.
    • Development and maintenance of the Project Management System.
    • Development of audit schedules and performing project and corporate audits as directed by the project manager. Analysing audit findings and preparation of reports for project management.
    • Preparation of inspection and test plans.
    • Liaise with certifying authorities and local authorities on matters of SSHE.
    • Participate in risk reviews.
    • Participate in the selection of Suppliers and Sub-contractors.
    • Ensure compliance with Client and project security protocols.
    • Acting in a mentoring capacity in providing guidance in the training and development of nationals and maintaining competency levels within the SSHE group.
    • Acting as Technical Authority on SSHE matters.
    • Effectively communicating with Operations, Facilities and Construction personnel and others as required ensuring modifications are carried out in a planned, co-ordinated and safe fashion.
    • Visits to sites/facilities to carry out on site training and give SSHE input to engineering activities, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and legislation.
    • Identifying the appropriate resources to perform on site SSHE activities as required.
    • Preparation of internal and HSEQ reports.
    • Input to the preparation of RFS’s and estimates.
    • Ensuring compliance with project internal and external reporting requirements.
    • Ensuring compliance with project KPI’s.
    • Participation in the Wood Review process.

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Bachelor or equivalent degree in Engineering, with 10 years relevant experience in oil and gas industry
    • Extensive Brownfield experience
    • Should possess coordination/communication skills and very good knowledge of spoken and written English language
