  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is currently recruiting for a Project Engineer to form part of our project team in our Melbourne CBD Office.  Reporting to the Delivery lead, the ideal candidate would play a key role to manage the brownfields scope of work on a major LNG facility. Experience with management of fast tracked project delivery and working with previous oil and gas service providers would be preferred.



    • Delivering project scope to budget and schedule requirements, while maintaining excellent safety and quality performance
    • Manage changes through a recognised change management process, including EQ’s and TQ’s
    • Actively manage major Civil and Mechanical sub-contractors, validation of daily, weekly and monthly reports
    • Overseeing procurement of long-lead specialist materials and equipment
    • Liaising with multi-discipline engineering team to ensure fit-for-purpose design and timely resolution of queries
    • Attending meetings with client, implementation contractors and suppliers
    • Reporting on project progress and KPIs
    • Identifying key areas of risk for the project and developing appropriate mitigation strategies.


    Skills / Qualifications

    • Extensive experience as a Project Engineer within an EPC/EPCM environment 
    • Ability to work autonomously and deliver to deadlines
    • Exposure across design, procurement, construction and commissioning activities on oil and gas facilities
    • Proven capabilities in managing and motivating all disciplines to deliver projects on schedule and budget
    • Effective communication and relationship-building skills
    • Sound understanding of Planning and Cost Control (with the support of a Project Controls team).
