    ITER is a unique, first of a kind project that aims to demonstrate the technical and scientific feasibility of fusion energy.

     

    WOOD one of three partners making up the Consortium MOMENTUM (construction management-as-agent contractor) is project managing the construction and assembly of more than one million components in world’s largest fusion reactor.

    As construction management-as-agent contractor, MOMENTUM is managing the construction and assembly of the first full-scale test reactor to include balance of plant and the Tokomak itself. Join us and play a part in the international effort to make fusion a viable source of almost limitless, carbon-free energy.

     

    Wood is recruiting for an Established Permit to Work & Site Coordinator with 7 to 13 years of experience to work on the ITER Project near Aix-en-Provence, France. 

    He/She will be responsible for :

    • Leads a safety role model and prioritises safety
    • Provides competence and discipline within the PTW team
    • Ensures that the PTW system is utilized effectively and is fully populated with all data required for nuclear safety compliance
    • Acts as a PTW Issuer and Approver 
    • Manages site Coordinator interfaces through effective dialogue with Tasks Supervisors involved to coordinate all parties
    • Ensures through daily surveillance that the site is always in an optimum safe and operational state and teams under the PTW scheme are adhering to all principles and controls applied in permit
    • You have safety and technical duties and responsabilities.

    Please note the job offer would be based on a local French contract – this would not be an expatriate assignment.

    To non-European candidates, please note that you will have to manage your work-permit procedure.

    Skills / Qualifications

    Essential skills include :

    • Leading and embedding a safety culture across the construction teams
    • Managing processes within functional area in a compliant manner
    • PTW management software implementation experience
    • Taking part in and contributing to site Audits 
    • Analysing Information and defining corrective actions
    • International PTW experience
    • Knowledge oh heavyconstruction industry 
    • Successfull operational experience in the management of multiple concurrent activities 
    • 10 years of construction and operational PTW Safety experience
    • Fluent in English (CMA/IO interfaces) and French (work contractors interfaces).

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills along creative solution and problem solving skills

     

    General skills :

    • Strong ability to communicate and to provide clear and concise instruction
    • Very organized and structured
    • high sense of responsability
    • Strong sens of situational awareness and priorities
