    We are currently sourcing an HSE Advisor to join our team on a permanent basis at the Eastern Treatment Plant in Carrum Downs. Reporting to the HSEQ Assignment Manager, the HSE Advisor will manage the HSE requirements on site and ensure compliance is followed and in line with Wood’s policies and procedures.

     

    Wood has sixteen years’ experience providing maintenance services to Australia’s water industry and our achievements have been considered world class best practice for maintenance in water utilities by the MCP AIMS.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Ensuring HSE is at the forefront of employee’s thoughts
    • Actively engage and communicate with operations and the maintenance teams to educate on HSE matters
    • Contribute to HSE performance reporting and delivery of strategic initiatives
    • Ensuring safe operational practices, processes, employee education and training
    • Ensure site compliance by performing regular assurance and audit activities
    • Engage with operational staff to identify and manage high risk activities
    • Conduct site inductions, including pre-starts and toolbox talks

    Skills / Qualifications

    • A minimum 5 years’ HSE experience, ideally in a lead role
    • Demonstrated leadership in supporting a learning and generative culture
    • A formal qualification in health and safety
    • Demonstrated experience working on maintenance and construction projects
    • Previous experience working in water or industrial services environment would be an advantage
    • Experience in the management of return to work cases
    • Relevant experience in Root Cause, Tap Root or ICAM investigation methodologies
