  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is currently recruiting for a Systems Specialist Team Member.  This position will support a small systems specialist team within the Finance and Administration function as part of the wider Finance and Admin Systems Support team. This team is responsible for providing specialist knowledge and support from a systems perspective through finance modules within various systems and interfaces. This role is time critical to ensure maximisation of our DSO and invoicing procedures alongside the operational Finance teams.

     

    This roles objective is to ensure the business is provided with high quality support related to maximising commercial worth and minimising risk by adhering to the accounting policies and processes of Wood Group. Wood Group work with fully customised systems which require a unique specialist skillset in order to implement and troubleshoot.

     

    The team member supports the System Specialist Team Lead in the delivery of effective Finance and Administration practice which complements the technical teams within the IT&S function.

     

    • Carry out all system set up and processes for business establishments
    • Ensure Mailbox queries are resolved in a timely fashion
    • Provide in situ / remote billing / month end duties post start up
    • Provide in situ / remote duties to ensure key contract deadlines are not effected in absence of core project team members
    • Ensure weekly processes and tasks are completed in a timely manner
    • During any major ORACLE system upgrades, enhancements or deployments, execute test scripts for UAT/SIT and supporting documentation.
    • Run key processes and reconciliations in International ORACLE including error table management
    • Completion of weekly cost distribution tasks
    • Provide transaction and data management support to the business related to ORACLE specific issues, balance sheet interrogation and compliance with OP/GL recs
    • Provide 1st line Analytical support to end users in system balance reconciliations
    • Advocate and champion for compliance with financial management framework. Support to be provided beyond the UK to Wood  East organisation

     

     

    Skills / Qualifications

    Qualifications:

    • Working towards a Finance/Accounting degree preferred but not essential

     

    Job specific experience:

    • Experience in the use of Oracle accounting systems
    • Excellent skills and understanding of writing system and test scripts.

     

    Knowledge of:

    • Accounting principles, practices and regulations
    • IFRS regulations and guidelines
    • Financial Management Framework
    • IT&S systems and interfaces which support accounting practices

     

    Experience of:

    • Project Accounting
    • Month end accounting close
    • Preparation and analysis of balance sheet reconciliations
