  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is currently recruiting for a CE&I Commissioning Engineer with extensive experience in the nuclear industry.

    Commissioning Engineer, reporting to the Commissioning Team Leader, functions as part of a multi-disciplined team for the purpose of carrying out testing and validation activities. Duties include

    • Collaborate with the design teams and ensure the commissioning team has access to a complete set of up to date design documentation.
    • Review design documentation (Drawings, SI&DDs etc) to check there is no ‘commissionability’ issues. (Commissionability being defined as (a) having a complete design configuration and a modular design that allows phased demonstration of design intent (b) more conventional access/egress and permit issues on site).
    • Review and confirm the Plant Test Schedule with the Area CTL to ensure it is a true representation of the on-site testing scope.
    • Review the Commissioning programme/estimate with the Area CTL to confirm logic and duration.
    • Review vendor FAT test documentation and if necessary assist during the writing of such documentation.
    • Attend FAT/CAT testing and if necessary (Vendor’s works).
    • Write Inactive Plant Commissioning test documentation for use at site.
    • Execute Inactive Plant Commissioning tests on site and review test documentation.
    • Co-operate with other lead engineers within the waste treatment cell or box operations cell during the commissioning phase. Showing leadership in a small team of engineers and technicians on a day to day basis during the testing period in the decontamination area, maintenance area, and safety systems associated with them.
    • Prepare completed test results information. If necessary, attend Commissioning Sub-Committee meetings to support CTL.
    • Write Inactive Safety Commissioning documentation & execute Inactive Safety Commissioning Tests.



    Skills / Qualifications

    Candidate must have experience in:-

    • Nuclear CE&I systems commissioning
    • Minimum - HNC/HND in Engineering related subject
    • 10 years minimum nuclear commissioning in a similar managerial role
    • Project management knowledge, preferably APM member

    Calculation production using Excel.
