  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is looking for a Senior Project Engineer - ICSS Interface to join our team in Iraq.


    This is a rotational Iraq based position, part of the Wood FRR team.


    Accountability overview:

    • Delivery of individual, Facilities Risk Review (FRR) Project Performance with respect to Procurement, Schedule, Cost, Safety and Quality to meet asset operational needs.
    • Arrange and participate in all project safety, design and constructability reviews.
    • Zero defect tolerance
    • Strict adherence to Project Procedures usage
    • Establishing Work Orders WBS Structure and alignment of proposals & CTR development with an emphasis on scope development
    • Project delivery to agreed schedule dates
    • Preparation of Weekly Project Dashboards
    • To drive interface management, liaising with the Client’s Engineering, Operations and Maintenance staff as required to ensure a consistent approach to project completion
    • Promote safe behaviour at all times.

    Responsibility Overview:

    • Work Order Proposal preparation, including scope and deliverable definition.
    • Base line schedule preparation
    • Work Order Kick Off
    • Change Control within work orders
    • Risk Management within work orders
    • Work Order reporting
    • Budget Control of work orders
    • Schedule Management
    • Daily Relationship Management and interface with MAC, client PE and client FRR Technical Authorities
    • Accurate reporting against active work orders
    • Schedule and Management of site surveys, resources and logistical requirements

    Responsibility Overview for ICSS interafce:

    • Develop interface management plan for Program/Project. Obtain endorsement of interface management plan from key stakeholders
    • Develop and maintain relationships with the Engineering Contractor, ICSS Vendor and Packaged Equipment vendor organizations and maintain a positive environment even during conflicts between projects.
    • Influence other organizations without having any direct authority (equivalent to a weak matrix structure of project management)
    • Monitor, and if necessary, push issues through the organization
    • Responsible for the execution of the interface management plan.
    • Organize and manage communication process between interface parties.
    • Monitor and expedite key information transfer between parties
    • Translate information needs between parties as needed to facilitate effective information transfer and understanding of information requirements between parties.
    • Conflict resolution of interface issues.
    • First point of contact for issues between parties.

    Input into key Project Documents and reports including:

    • Weekly project dashboards
    • Procurement Status Reports
    • Schedule updates
    • Risk Register
    • Action Register
    • Project Change Register
    • DOR
    • Cost Reports
    • End of Life Forecast

    Review Project documents weekly including, and action appropriately:

    • All Exception Reports e.g. Planning, Document Control, Subcontracts, Contracts.
    • Document Registers
    • Inspection & Expediting reports
    • Manhour and timesheet reports
    • Schedules

    Other Activities

    • Lead in weekly discipline engineering progress meeting
    • Initiate / participate in lessons learned at appropriate stages during the project life cycle
    • Prepare and participate in weekly delivery meeting.
    • Coordinate between the site requirements and home office
    • Participate within the procurement meeting

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Degree in a relevant engineering discipline (B.Sc./B.Eng./M.Sc.)
    • Membership of a recognised professional institute preferred
    • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in design, construction, and general project delivery in the oil and gas industry
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Project Engineering or Project Engineering Management
    • Minimum of 6 years proven capability in an EPC company
    • Experience of working with multi-national and multi-cultural project teams is strongly preferred
