  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is currently recruiting for a National Quality Engineer to join our team in Baku, Azerbaijan. The successful candidate will be responsible to ensuring delivery of quality service that achieves the requirements of the Wood and BP complying with relevant international/national codes and standards and BP Specifications.

    This position will report directly to Project Quality Lead

     

    At this time, we will only consider applications from Azerbaijani citizens only.

     

    • Implementation, control and maintenance of the Contract Management System.
    • Successful roll out and implementation of Quality objectives, initiatives and campaigns
    • Successful completion of audits in line with schedules and reporting requirements
    • Effective and timely management of Corrective and preventive action tracking databases in their working location
    • Review and approval of vendor ITP’s and annotation with appropriate H,W,R points
    • Interface with P&M ensuring RFQ, SDRL and Criticality Rating review
    • Assist with coordination of Third Party Inspection as determined by Criticality rating and Engineering review.
    • Participate in monthly Quality surveillance audits

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Act as HSE role model at all times
    • Good planning and organisational skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office
    • High level of communication skills in both written and spoken format
    • Analytical, Problems Solving skills and Systematic thinking
    • Preferable Taproot (or similar) training
    • Internal: Effective 2-way communicator, comfortable with presentation of Quality presentations and programmes, able to build strong working relationships with peers and capable of mentoring National personnel.

    External: Effective 2-way communicator, comfortable in both Client and other 3rd party environments; able to build exemplary working relationship with Client and other Stakeholders.

    • 7 + years relevant experience (Preferably in the Oil/Gas /Petrochemical industry).
    • Previous Experience in a Lead or management position
    • Diploma in Engineering or relevant associated discipline (desirable)
    • Membership of CQI or country specific Industry body (desirable)
    • Quality Auditor Qualification by recognised industry body (essential)
    • CSWIP Inspection Qualification (desirable)
