  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood has an immediate requirement for a Condition Monitoring Technician to join our team based out of Perth, Western Australia.

    Servicing the industry across both the Mining and Oil / Gas sectors, our successful candidate will provide Condition Monitoring technical support for fixed plant equipment (pumps, motors, gearboxes, pulleys) in addition to specialist and service advice on client sites throughout Western Australia and Northern Territory.

    While this role is centred in Perth, there is a requirement for for site based work and FIFO assignments are important element of this position. 

    Please note that VCAT 1 Certification is essential to be considered for this role.

     

    At this time, we will only consider applications from Australian citizens or those with the required permit/VISA for this region, in place.

     

    About the role:

    • Carry out data collection and analysis on rotating equipment, plus belt thickness testing and thermography
    • Assist with techncial investigation on equipment and provide specialist input for relevant equipment failures and troubleshooting
    • Assess and report on machine performance and provide recommendations for improvement
    • Provide support in vibration analysis and other predictive and preventive maintenance practices
    • Assist in maintaining and developing client relationships

    Skills / Qualifications

    • 3+ years proven mechanical maintenance / reliability based experience in the Mining and/or Oil & Gas Industry
    • Trade qualifications will be viewed favourably
    • Demonstrated commitment to safety in the workplace
    • ISO VCAT1 is mandatory
    • VCAT2 / TCAT / LCAT are highly regarded
    • Vibration, thermography and lubrication experience is essential
    • Experience with a variety of tools (e.g. CSi, Scout, Ascent or System 1Evo) desirable
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with high level English literacy, report writing skills and computer proficiency
    • Highly motivated, self-sufficient individual who enjoys working as part of collaborative and supportive team and is open to site travel and working on a variety of FIFO rosters tailored to meet client requirements
    • Ability to work in a team based environment and able to build strong working relationships
