  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is currently seeking to appoint an experienced Senior Process Engineer to work with our Mining and Mineral Processing team on an exciting new Lithium Project.


    The Albemarle Kemerton Plant is a world scale, greenfield Lithium Hydroxide Monohydrate production plant to be located at the Kemerton Strategic Industrial Area approximately 160 km south of Perth and 17 km north-east of the existing port town of Bunbury. Initially this will comprise of three trains, each producing 20,000 tpa Lithium Hydroxide Monohydrate with a first product target of 2020. Expansion to five trains will take the ultimate site production to 100,000 tpa by around 2025. 


    We aim to provide engineering solutions exceeding our clients’ expectations, delivering on time and on budget and in line with the agreed project technical requirements. This role is offered on contract basis and is based in our Perth CBD office.





    • Provide process designs in accordance with project, time, budget and technical requirements
    • Prepare process engineering deliverables and technical documentation, including:
      • Piping and instrumentation diagrams
      • Process control philosophy
      • Functional specification tables
      • Equipment sizing
      • Mechanical equipment and instrumentation datasheets
      • Technical bid evaluations
      • Vendor data review
    • Participate in HAZOP reviews and other design reviews
    • Other process activities as required to support the detailed design effort

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Strong background in the Mining / Mineral Processing sector
    • Degree in Chemical Engineering / Metallurgical Engineering or other related field
    • Minimum eight (8) years experience in the mining industry
    • Recent relevant process plant operational experience
    • Previous detailed engineering experience preferred
    • Strong analytical, literacy and numeracy skills
    • Well-developed computer skills
    • Self-motivated with the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
