  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is currently recruiting for a Maintenance Planner / Scheduler to join our team on a permanent contract at Melbourne Water located at the Eastern Treatment Plant in Carrum Downs. You will be responsible to plan the day-to-day management of the maintenance schedule to ensure optimal scheduling of all asset maintenance work-orders and develop and optimise standard job tasks for preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure consistency.

    • Identify and review monthly work order generation for scheduling and resource requirements
    • Develop the draft 7 & 30 day scheduling plan with input from key stakeholders
    • Work with maintenance team representatives to approve the 30 day scheduling plan
    • Work with operations to ensure asset availability and approved to allow for maintenance tasks to be delivered on time
    • Adjust schedule as required to meet the 30 & 7 day plan through the weekly meetings
    • Schedule and adjust the monthly maintenance program to ensure tasks can be executed effectively
    • Define the level of detail of work definition and man hour estimating
    • Deliver a schedule of resources required to support execution in period
    • Establish & maintain standard schedules to reduce waste
    • Produce re-commissioning schedules for equipment post maintenance activity
    • Schedule and coordinate shutdowns and other maintenance projects
    • Liaise with internal and external customers and suppliers
    • Liaise to ensure availability of asset and resources for the expeditious delivery of the work
    • Assist in the development and management of the Maintenance Budget in their area
    • Revise and adjust schedules to reflect changes in priority
    • Analyse data and prepare reports for continuous improvement and Key Performance Indicator utilising the appropriate analysis techniques

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Demonstrated ability in the implementation of maintenance strategies and application of continuous improvement process specific to water and waste water treatment processes
    • Demonstrated knowledge of asset management and maintenance processes aligned with associated water asset and natural resources
    • Detailed knowledge of electrical, mechanical and civil systems used in the water industry environment
    • Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation and/or ongoing operation of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems in the application of asset management techniques and the delivery of effective maintenance management outcomes
    • Relevant trade qualifications, tertiary or professional qualifications
    • Understanding of contracts and contractual obligations
    • Understanding of scheduling and reporting requirements in maintenance
    • Demonstrates familiarity with scheduling techniques and procedures
    • Demonstrates the links between Scheduling & Budgeting
    • Monitoring execution status, performance measurement and reporting:
    1.    Verification of schedule accuracy and completeness
    2.    Reporting of progress and challenges to schedule
    3.    Analysis of schedule deviations, man-hour variances and trends for their  causes and impacts
    4.    Analysis of resource productivity and effectiveness.
    5.    Development and implementation of actions to resolve schedule variances
