  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is currently seeking to recruit a Lead Construction Engineer - HVAC, as part of Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team responsible for construction and completions delivery of KIPIC’s Al-Zour LNG Import Project.

    • Create and sustain a good team spirit within Wood project team, KIPIC and EPC Contractor
    • Construction supervision and co-ordination of the work at site to maximize the effectiveness of construction delivery to time, budget and quality objectives
    • Monitor, review and approve key construction documentation to support timely construction installation and completion
    • Monitor, progress and review construction installation and completions by the EPC Contractor at site
    • Ensure assigned work is managed and delivered to KIPIC satisfaction
    • Enhance and demonstrate commitment to raising HSE standards and proposing new initiatives or improvements
    • Provide leadership, guidance and direction concerning all facets of construction, completions and their delivery
    • Review project studies & proposals for constructability and/or construction hazard identification
    • Monitor and review the EPC Contractor’s and their Subcontractors construction activities including resourcing thereof
    • Interface with KIPIC and the EPC Contractor for formal and informal reviews on construction and safety related matters
    • Responsible for site engineering activities and providing technical assistance to the construction supervision team
    • Coordinate and resolve field construction queries interfacing with engineering and completions
    • Assist in the review and approval of sub-contractors method statements
    • Participate in key KIPIC reviews and meetings as required
    • Monitor, appraise and report to KIPIC on quality and safety construction performed by the EPC Contractor and their Subcontractors / Vendors

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Bachelor of Science in Engineering
    • Minimum 12 years post graduate experience
    • Minimum 8 years of experience in the oil & gas, refining and petrochemical industries
    • Minimum 3 years of experience with reputed Consultants in the same / similar position is desirable
    • Willingness to be assigned to the EPC Contractor’s home office for 8 months (extended up to one year) and then to Kuwait for the balance of the 45 - month project
    • Good written and verbal communication skills
    • Functional management, leadership and teambuilding skills
    • Good HSE awareness and commitment
    • Prior PMC experience an asset
    • Prior Middle East experience an asset
