    Wood is recruiting for a Senior Financial Accountant, responsible for managing the month end close process through to reporting to group, preparation of the entity subsidiary accounts and maintaining the financial control environment for the Nuclear business.

    This is a fixed-term role for 9 months.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage the month end ledger close process through to preparation of the group reporting pack including commentary and variance analysis
    • Preparation of the UK subsidiary statutory accounts for Nuclear
    • Manage audit of the statutory accounts
    • Manage the interim reporting to Group
    • Manage audit planning / hard close cycles
    • Manage group tax, treasury and other statutory requirements
    • Quarterly balance sheet reconciliation process
    • Ad hoc analysis and query resolution
    • Review & challenge the submissions
    • Support Oracle implementation (including testing)
    • Support continued process improvements / reporting efficiencies

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) with strong technical skills
    • Experience of consolidation / similar business unit role
    • Strong system skills – Excel, MDAX (or similar), HFM (or similar) and Caseware (or similar)
    • Excellent planning and organisational skills with ability to prioritise workload to deliver results within agreed timescales
    • The ability to work as part of a team
    • Ownership and responsibility 
    • Ability to understand performance drivers 
    • Collaborative communication skills, interfacing with both financial and non-financial colleagues
    • Drive for continuous improvement and added value
