  • Overview / Responsibilities

     

    Wood is currently recruiting Control and Safety System Automation Test Engineers with relevant experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry. Postions are intially located in our busy Woking office with opportunity to move to site in Tengiz for the right candidates.

    • Test software applications ensuring they are fault free
    • Visual inspection of equipment ready for power up
    • Connection of specialist test equipment
    • Ensuring all interfaces are ready for testing
    • Ensuring all test procedures are in place and being followed
    • Undertaking tests and accurately recording results and corrective actions
    • Ability to perform a first level of diagnostics/fault finding and corrective actions referring to subject matter experts when needed
    • Manage and interface with the customer representative(s) during testing
    • Provide progress reporting to the project team

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Good level of industrial experience is required, ideally with some hands-on experience with Honeywell Safety Manager and Experion systems, field interfaces and equipment
    • Working experience of associated documentation such as Cause/Effects, P&IDs, Control Narratives, data sheets and test procedures
    • Has experience of actory acceptance and ideally site acceptance and pre-commissioning and commissioning support
    • Hands on experience with configuration of applications, testing and commissioning of Honeywell Safety Manager and/or Experion control systems
    • Setting up Honeywell Experion Servers, C300 controllers, networks switches, HMI graphics and control applications and fault finding
    • Integration and testing of process control systems with third party systems using standard industrial data communication protocol such as Modbus-RTU, Modbus-TCP, DNP3, and Smart MCC interfaces
    • Hands on experience in the integration of multi-vendor automation solutions using open data communication protocols particularly OPC (Open Platform Communication)
    • Familiarity with fundamentals of cybersecurity for industrial control systems
    • Has experience in the oil/gas, hydrocarbon, refinery, offshore or infrastructure industries
    • Minimum HNC/HND or equivalent experience
