    Wood is looking for expression of interest from a Structural Checker who aspire to be part of a team, delivering powerful results.     Join our collaborative team, working side by side with a global specialist chemicals company on a new and innovative project in the growing Lithium resources market to design, engineer and construct a world class processing facility.   We have a diverse range of opportunities within our Perth office and further positions in the South West.

     

    The greenfield project targeted to go into production in 2020 will produce Lithium Hydroxide Monohydrate from a 3 train processing plant with a forecasted 60,000 per annum (Tpa) output. Further expansion plans into 2025 will see a total production of 100,000 tonnes per annum. The plant is to be constructed at the Kemerton Strategic Industrial Area approximately 160 km south of Perth, Western Australia and 17 km north-east of the thriving regional centre of Bunbury.

     

     Position Specifics & Deliverables

    • Checking and issuing of detailed layout, design and production of drawings in accordance with relevant standards and project requirements
    • Timely transfer of information to other disciplines
    • Support other disciplines/divisions
    • Adherence to project man-hour budgets
    • Timely completion of drawings and schedules
    • Quality checks to ensure project design requirements are followed, using Wood’s standards and procedures
    • Review and processing of vendor data and drawings
    • Coordination and issuing of drawing packages
    • Assistance with site installation and commissioning
    • Assistance with the development of estimates

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Minimum of 15 years design drafting experience, of which 10 years are in the mining and minerals processing area
    • Well-developed computer skills with a good knowledge of MicroStation as well as a working knowledge of relational databases and spreadsheets
    • Broad knowledge of construction techniques and plant operations
    • Good understanding of mineral resource technology
    • Good understanding of civil/structural technology
    • Experience with Process Plant design and layout
    • Possess teamwork skills as well as an understanding of other discipline requirements and expectations
    • Good understanding of the scope of work and project development process

    Candidates must have full work rights in Australia to be considered for this role.
