  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is currently recruiting for a Design HSE Engineer to join our Engineering Team in Turkey. 


    The successful candidate will take responsibility of managing design HSE issues and deliverables on a wide range of projects (Refinery, Pharma, etc).


    He/she will report to Process Engineering Manager in Istanbul Office and will be supported by Design HSE Manager in Milan. 


    Work place will be Istanbul-Turkey, but short trips abroad may be required in order to lead/participate HAZOPs and/or safety reviews at Client premises.


    The role oversees the following objectives:


    • Coordination of HSE matters in Basic/FEED/EPC contracts, interfacing with both colleagues in different disciplines and with Clients 
    • Responsibility for project HSE Compliance in the design phase and overall project Technical HSE performances
    • Interfaces with HSE specialized external Consultants

    Skills / Qualifications

    • University degree in Engineering disciplines
    • Substantial experience in the Design HSE profession and Risk Assessment
    • Experience in Loss Prevention
    • Experience in HAZID/HAZOP chairman role
    • Experience with SIL/LOPA studies
    • Experience in HSE aspects in engineering design (safety distances, fire & gas, etc)
    • Knowledge of CE marking according to European Safety Directives
    • Knowledge about MS Office Applications
    • Fluency in Turkish & English
    • TUV (or equivalent) SIL certification will be appreciated
