  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is currently looking for a Workpack Planner to give planning support for a period of 3-6 months for a project on a client site in Teesside.

     

    Duties/Responsibilities

    • Plan defects, routines and modifications ensuring compliance to the defined standards & procedures.
    • Identify materials, subcontractor & specialist resources requirements as required & compile all supporting documentation associated with the task to ensure job packs are of the required standard.
    • Specify man hours and interfaces with other disciplines to allow a detailed schedule to be produced.
    • Liaise with the schedulers to produce a detailed schedule in Primavera, identify resource profiles and resolve workface interaction issues.
    • Review the initial worklist to identify jobs requiring lift plans, long lead material items, JSA’s and major tasks and monitor the progress of these items regularly.
    • Plan all work & liaise with the purchasing, workshop and contractor organisations to ensure all materials are specified, ordered, delivered and that fabrication work is planned & specified to meet the schedule end date.
    • Cover all combinations of trade disciplines & the job holder must have a thorough understanding of all of these disciplines & a knowledge of the contract organisations who supply the resources.
    • The planner may be working on several site areas at the same time, at different stages. A good overview of status, progress & the ability to manage & resolve issues is required by the job holder.
    • The role requires interaction with a wide range of internal & external personnel at varying levels in the organisation (contractors, operations, SHE, projects etc.) & the role holder must have the ability to effectively interact and influence these groups.
    • Quality planning is key to the success of schedule. This requires in depth knowledge of the work content, the plant area, the relationships between jobs and the ability to work within a team to focus on optimisation of the schedule.

     

     

    Skills / Qualifications

    • The job holder would normally be an experienced multi-disciplined planner, with extensive experience of working on top tier COMAH Sites.
    • The job holder would be expected to have an in depth knowledge of the iCura planning system which is used on site to develop detailed work packs and scheduling information.
    • Knowledge of the overhaul scheduling tool (Primavera) that is used to schedule work for mini, midi and major overhauls.
