    Woods nuclear business supports customers in the energy generation, new build, decommissioning and defence sectors.

     

    Our nuclear business has offices in Knutsford and Birchwood in Cheshire, Gloucester, Dorchester, Harwell, Glasgow, Newcastle, Bristol, Cumbria, Reading and London. We also have a strong international presence to support our growing operations in France, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Poland, South Africa and Japan.

     

    The Nuclear business provides engineering, consultancy, safety case support and project management to our customers’ operations within the nuclear sector as well as into non-nuclear sectors where our capabilities are transferrable. We have long term relationships with several major clients in the civil nuclear industries and opportunities to work across a variety of nuclear projects at all stages of the project life cycle.

    Wood is recruiting for a Programme Manager/Director for our Nuclear business to work on a high-profile critical programme of work for one of the business’s key customers.  A new phase of the programme is commencing at the start of April so we are looking to appoint to this role as quickly as possible to enable the successful individual to contribute to the shaping of the arrangements.

     

    You will be joining an organisation that delivers integrated customer solutions that draw upon the global Wood skills base and our supply chain partners.

     

    Responsibilities:

     

    • Overall accountability for the optimised delivery of a 5 year+ programme, meeting schedule, budget and safety requirements.
    • Able to create and lead a high-performance team.
    • Ensuring achievement of the client’s objectives and success criteria.
    • Working in a collaborative partnership with the client and other partners in the overall management and integration of the programme including development, planning, delivery, risk management and opportunity capture.
    • Champion of agile and flexible working, ensuring that the right collaborative behaviours are in place.
    • Accountable to Wood for business and programme performance.
    • Lead in communications and personally oversees all stakeholder management activities for Wood.

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Experienced in delivering several million-pound multi-project programmes in an integrated team environment.
    • Experience providing leadership in the management of the various relationships, able to develop a high performing team and create a culture in which innovation and change will flourish.
    • Able to work with, and across, political, technical and organisational boundaries.
    • Building high confidence with wide range of stakeholders – an expert communicator.
