  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is currently recruiting for E&I Lead Field Engineer to strengthen our MOC (Management of Change) team in Basra, Iraq on a 28 / 28 rotation for the following responsibilities: 


    • Provide construction input to estimates as and when required
    • Review design documents and provide constructability input to designs / changes at site as appropriate
    • Oversee sequenced Activity data, Test and Inspection Matrices, and all construction activities
    • Oversee In country facilities/sites to review designs and liaise with Construction Supervisors
    • Coordinate strongly with Client representation (Construction & Commissioning)
    • Ongoing throughout the works - Identify any Specialist Vendor Support, Tools and Equipment required to implement scope.
    • Liaising with study team lead discipline engineers on developing solutions on FEED Studies
    • Interface with Client’s Operations groups as & when necessary
    • Taking part (as well as overseeing) in site surveys and generation of reports where required
    • Support construction / operational section of FEED report
    • Advise, where necessary, on Development of Construction CTRs for Bid estimates. (In close contact with Out of country Work-pack engineers)
    • Good working knowledge of ITR’s for E&I completion & Pre-commissioning activities
    • Working in a team environment
    • To strongly Interface with client's Construction Team & WG engineering team
    • Assist and manage on any TQ’s as raised – coordinate with Wood engineering on same
    • Involved in Effective Change Management (Coordinating same with the Client representative at site)
    • Liaise closely with Wood Engineering on all aspects of design and technical data.
    • Liaise strongly with Supply Chain for materials & equipment deliverables for alignment to the overall project schedules
    • Coordinate with Project controls on the progress of work and raise any constraints issues as required
    • Participate in HSE improvement activities, promoting HSE elements throughout the daily works as ongoing
    • Discipline Engineering role in support of the Construction Activities
    • Full working knowledge of construction activities in relation to the relevant Eectrical, Instrumentation & all discipline
    • Ability to review engineering design drawings and challenge work content for any improvement / cost effective methodology that can be adopted without compromise to safety. Also to be able to challenge engineering detail for possible area’s of where Hotwork can be reduced / minimised

    Skills / Qualifications

    • A Degree is preferred but a diploma, would be considered if with the level of experience is high.
    • Must have strong background in managing on-site teams of multi-discipline packs.
    • Front-end Construction experience essential.
    • Likely to have held supervisory roles previously.
    • Will have sound experience of Site survey and Inspection duties.  
    • It is required to have 10-15 years experience in the Oli & Gas industry.
    • Middle East experience and knowledge of Arabic culture preferable.
    • E&I background and MOC type experience is a must
