  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is currently recruiting for a Construction Lead with extensive experience leading EPCM environment to join the team in our Melbourne office on a 12 months contract. This is an office-based role with trips to site in Papua New Guinea (PNG) as required. This role will be providing construction input and planning into the engineering and execution of works in PNG. Proven experience in, construction planning, supervision and execution of major civil (earthworks, pipelines, airfields) and facilities works with ability to interface with multi discipline teams would be preferred. Previous experience in civil construction either as a Construction Superintendent or Construction Manager in PNG or in a similar role would be an advantage.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for construction execution planning activities including interfacing with the client representatives
    • Plans and controls the Construction interface between site and head office
    • Accountable for construction planning (resources, equipment and construction methods) including input into subcontractor evaluation and selection to ensure safe and timely execution of work activities as per project plans
    • Sets and maintains the quality of the inputs for construction management plans, procedures, drawings and inputs into work packs
    • Provides input and advice on material, tools and equipment
    • Actively input to Construction estimate / CTR’s (in collaboration with the Construction Engineers)
    • Clarification of roles and responsibilities of site team
    • Construction input into the Project and Engineering Design.

    Skills / Qualifications

     

    • Demonstrates technical expertise, integrity and the ability to influence and challenge others to behave in ways consistent with the interest of the organisation
    • Should have over 12 years' experience within the oil and gas Industry
    • Demonstrates sound, fact-based decision making, and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, clients and contractors to help teams achieve goals
    • Actively develops relationships with customers and Wood entities via regular contact and involvement. Demonstrates ability to develop long and short-term service relationships
    • Demonstrated strong commitment to safety
    • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, both written and oral.
