  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is currently recruiting for a E&I Work Preparator for a client based in the North Sea.  This position is based onshore and reports to the Maintenance & Integrity Lead.

     

    The successful candidate will be responsible for quality work preparation of Electrical & Instrumentation PM & CM orders in CMMS system.

     

    • Responsible for the daily selection of both PM & Breakdown work orders for preparation following prioritisation guidelines
    • Apply technical knowledge to determine equipment problems, failure modes and identify appropriate solutions in order to develop work packs
    • Ensure work order look ahead are performed and future work reflected in schedules / Maintenance plans
    • Work closely with offshore supervision to optimise vendor / specialist activities ensuring no mobilisations takes place where comprehensive work preparation is not complete and executable
    • Responsible for running daily ready for execution checks & setting relevant work orders for scheduling
    • Responsible for ensuring all Repair Order constraints are managed, prioritised, scheduled and delivered as per target dates
    • Responsible for ensuring all constraints (incl materials) are managed in relation to rough scheduled dates and target finish dates
    • Evaluate Work Pack feedback to improve future work preparation utilising the Z6 process
    • Responsible for determining planned man hours & updating estimate man hours fields
    • Responsible for maintaining a high standard of work preparation to allow the accurate measurement of workload status
    • Perform quality checks on Breakdown, Repair & Follow-On Work Orders to ensure the scope has been fully completed and the work order history is correctly closed out
    • Support the Electrical & Instrumentation Technical Authority and Discipline Engineers to define and prepare packaged equipment repairs
    • Interface with TAR co-ordinators with regard to identifying pre/post-TAR activities and also TAR specific critical activities
    • Responsible for incrementally improving the platform maintenance & operations technician competence in work order preparation
    • Where required will comply with Management of Change Process (e-MOC) and liaise with Technical Authorities (TA2)
    • Actively support the asset in achieving and sustaining Global ME calculative status

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Thorough understanding of key legislative and regulatory frameworks applicable to UKCS, including HSSE policies
    • In depth knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices and principles.
    • Skilled in assessing and prioritising work based on critical systems and equipment requirements, project commitments, age of work orders and resource availability
    • Experienced in Shell’s ME and FSR processes

    • Blade 10 ME coach in line with Shell OE (Operational Excellence).

    • A detailed understanding of the maintenance workflow process.

    • Skilled in using SAP to prepare work packages and monitor materials availability.

    • Highly skilled in applying technical knowledge to determine equipment problems (including knowledge of RCA techniques and their applicability) and identifying appropriate solutions in order to develop work packs

    • Knowledge of Primavera project software and its use in developing network plans, including critical paths and resourcing advantageous

    • In depth awareness of Performance Standards & Safety Case requirements
    • Experienced work preparator required

    • Time served in a maintenance “mechanical” discipline background

    • HNC or Recognised Apprenticeship with NVQ level 3
