  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is currently recruiting for an Interface Engineer with extensive experience in Automation and Control.  he role will initially be based in Farnborough (client location) with travel as required to Woking where the MAC Delivery Team are located.

     

    The Interface Engineer is the primary interface between the responsible engineering contractor and the MAC. The Interface Engineer ensures the timely delivery of accurate “basis of design/user requirements” for their area of responsibility to the MAC organisation.

     

    In addition the Interface Engineer is responsible for accurate progress reporting and escalation and issue resolution leading to the successful PAS (Process Automation Systems) or package delivery.

     

    Main Responsibilities:

    • The role will involve co-ordinating and managing the interface between the end user organisation, the MAC and 3rd parties as required
    •  Key function of the role is to ensure any issues during project lifecycle (technical, scope, quality or schedule) issues are addressed and resolved
    • Checking the exchange of technical data for completeness
    • The role will report into the MAC organisation, providing accurate progress, risks identification and action tracking to the MAC Delivery Manager.
    • Collation of documentation for the design assurance workshops and resolution of technical queries between vendors and PJV
    • Support Planning of activities/deliverables to facilitate alignment between MAC and EPC deliverables
    • Review execution documents and control narratives for incorporation of EPC comments and vice versa

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Degree in an engineering discipline
    • Excellent customer facing skills
    • Working towards or being a chartered engineer and member of a recognised institution, such as the IET or IMC
    • Automation OEM equipment knowledge would be desirable
    • Successful project engineering track record of delivering large scale projects
    • Experience in Oil and Gas/Chemical refining
    • Experience of working with EPC and end user organisations
