    Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions UK Limited are looking for a dynamic team player to support the development of the Transport Modelling, Transport Planning and Traffic / Highway Engineering capability to expand and develop its successful Transport, Planning and Design team within the Environment and Infrastructure business line.


    You will be involved in the delivery of a wide range of strategic transport projects across the UK, support and advise a team working on a variety of transport planning projects and will be responsible for the preparation and use of a wide range of transport models and the development of scheme reports, including providing quality assurance and guidance to junior members of staff.


    The workload is extremely varied covering all aspects of the transport agenda and multi-modal studies including cycling, walking, public transport and safety.

    Key Responsibilities / Job Duties:

    • Delivery of a wide range of strategic transport projects across the UK
    • Support and advise a team working on a variety of transport planning projects
    • Preparation and use of a wide range of transport models
    • Development of scheme reports
    • Development of bids
    • Project Management including budgeting and forecasting
    • Line Management
    • Client liaison
    • Providing quality assurance and guidance to junior members of staff
    • Assistance in business development activities
    • Assistance in innovation initiatives

    Skills / Qualifications

    Experience within a consultancy environment is a distinct advantage and Local Authority experience is also desirable.  The work undertaken by the team is extremely varied and therefore candidates with either a range of skills and experience or particular specialisms will be considered.


    You will have experience of several of the following:

    • Experience in working with SATURN Highway Assignment Models supported by DIDEM and knowledge of HE Integrated DIADEM Interface (HEIDI); matrix estimation using SATURN/ network coding;
    • Experience in working with other macroscopic transport modelling software (e.g.VISUM, CUBE, EMME);
    • Experience in working with microscopic and/ or local junction modelling software (e.g.VISSIM, AIMSUN, Paramics, Junctions9, TRANSYT);
    • Experience in Traffic Master Data processing;
    • Data analytic and/ or programming skills;
    • Experience in working with economic assessment packages such as TUBA, COBALT, MYRIAD;
    • Carrying out all of the technical aspects of the projects including modelling, reports, drawings and calculations;
    • Assisting with preparation of bids and business development activities;
    • Keeping up-to-date with current standards, methods and research in transport planning; and
    • Detailed knowledge of appropriate standards (DMRB, WebTag, Transport for London Modelling Guidelines and Model Auditing Process MAP etc.)
