  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is currently recruiting Manager - Construction with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry.

    • Supporting Proposal Group of FW in interpretation of clients’ construction requirements as expressed in the invitations to bid (ITB) or to prequalify and provision of appropriate responses that may enhance the company’s prospect of receiving a Project award.
    • Set up, implement, manage and maintain Construction Administration of personnel, manhour and financial activities in all areas of Construction HO Operations
    • Assign all construction personnel to projects in a timely manner in conjunction with the Construction Operations Manager.
    • Set up, implement, manage and maintain the process of personnel recruitment into Construction Operations.
    • Input to the Construction Operations Financial Budget for approval by the Head Project Operations.
    • Set up systems to monitor and report on the departmental annual budget on a monthly and full year basis.
    • Coordinate the provision of computer based systems with IT in conjunction with Construction Operations Manager.
    • Establish / review contracting plan along with home office Procurement.
    • Construction Discipline Audits.
    • Set targets, objectives and clear responsibilities for all supervised staff, progressively monitor individual performance against the agreed criteria and conduct formal appraisals at least annually. Maintain good employee relations.
    • Identify new talent and provide mentoring and career development of construction personnel.
    • Manage, guide, coordinate, and deploy supervised staff to achieve the Business plan. Motivate supervised staff by agreeing action plans and obtaining personal commitment to them.
    • Develop, implement and maintain recruitment, induction, training, and development of personnel, so that the company procedures, work practices, and general operating systems are adequately communicated and understood.
    • Coordinate with and be the HR focal point for all Construction Operations.
    • Comply with Company and Client secrecy agreements pertinent to Construction Operations.
    • Maintain an effective MPP system to assign construction personnel to locations wherever they are through close coordination with Construction Operations Managers and HR.
    • Manage all time recording of Construction Operations Home Office and Site assigned personnel
    • Participate in setting out and implementing the departmental business plan and objectives.

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Graduate in Engineering
    • Minimum 25 years of experience in the field of Construction of major projects.
    • Should have worked as Construction Manager in a PMC / EPCm role.
    • Should have experience in managing large construction teams in home office and project site.
