  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is currently recruiting for a Project Quality Assurance Manager with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry. The ideal candidate will be responsibile for Providing a proactive  quality management service to the integrated project execution team in accordance with contractual requirements as well as meeting / exceeding client expectations as to quality outcomes.

    • To ensure the project quality management programme as defined in the project QA plan is implemented and complied with; i.e. PEP and Wood’s standards and procedures including Project Delivery Baseline
    • Inducting the project team in the scope and application of the project quality management programme as required
    • Ensure the agreed client QA requirements are adopted and complied with
    • Provide Quality Management input into proposals, as required
    • Liaise with the Client’s QA representative and involve that same in Project QMS and auditing process as prescribed
    • Manage an integrated programme of internal project audits and ensure audits are completed in accordance with planned arrangements and specified KPIs
    • Manage audit findings to ensure corrective and preventive actions are logged, actioned and closed and root cause established
    • Monitor and report project specific KPIs
    • Provide proactive support to the project team to identify project work processes which need to be brought under control
    • Provide support to the project team to develop fit-for-purpose QA controls to manage project specific work processes i.e. project instruction, process map, procedure etc
    • Provide support to the Project Manager in terms of applying quality management and continual improvement techniques to address specific areas of concerns i.e. workshops etc
    • Promote the use of Wood’s continual improvement tools
    • Supporting corporate HSSEA Manager with quality and continuous improvement initiatives to be rolled out on the project
    • Facilitating project lessons learned workshops and to assist in capturing key lessons for future projects.
    • Critically review and advise on the corporate quality management system and its processes to ensure continual improvement and advise process owners on their responsibilities where required
    • Assist in the mentoring of more junior team members, e.g. through audit shadowing
    • To provide input in to corporate reports as required
    • To ensure all projects are adequately resourced and managed with respect to Quality Management
    • To provide quality management input into proposals as required


    Skills / Qualifications

    • Degree / HNC qualified in an applicable subject and sector experience working on multi-disciplined projects at different phases
    • Chartered Member of the CQI
    • In depth knowledge and experience of management systems and process improvements.
    • IRCA ISO 9001 trained Lead Auditor
    • Competent in the use of quality tools and techniques and the interpretation of obtained results
    • Detailed knowledge and experience of project quality management systems
    • Possess exceptional presentation skills and be able to market the benefits of quality to all stakeholders
