  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is currently looking to recruit a site Hygiene Specialist to be deployed within a client Project Management Team in PMC capacity to assist in the management of a large EPC project with our client ADNOC Onshore.


    This is a site based position onshore working 5 days / week and 50hrs/week.


    • Assigned to projects involving industrial hygiene, asbestos, lead and mold
    • Work both in the field and in the office
    • Survey and sample building materials for asbestos and lead content
    • Conduct abatement project oversight involving asbestos, lead based paint and mold. Will work in the field with minimal supervision
    • Write daily reports
    • Conduct on-site phase contrast microscopy (PCM) analysis
    • Conduct air monitoring during abatement activities
    • Conduct environmental sampling for potable and non-potable water
    • Office work includes producing routine plans, cost estimates and specifications under supervision.
    • Assist in preparation of proposals
    • Will review plans documents to determine affected building elements for renovation and construction work

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Minimum 15 years of experience 
    • Bachelor’s in industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health and Safety, Engineering, Geology or applicable Science
    • Required current certifications include: AHERA Building Inspector, Management Planner (optional), Air Monitoring Specialist, NIOSH 582E, EPA / HUD Lead inspector Project Designer
    • An asbestos / lead physical exam is required to obtain medical clearance
    • 40-Hour HAZWOPER certified
    • Experience working in Client Representative or PMC role will be preferred.
    • Experience working in Onshore Brownfield
