  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood has an opportunity for an Sr. Architectural Designer in Singapore. In this role, you will provide architectural design service to the project management team that has proven expertise in managing large, complex projects with a global reach.

     

     

    • Produces architectural deliverable drawings utilising design sketches as provided by Architect and extracted views from the 3D model. All drawings to be produced in accordance with client, corporate & national standards, specifications and procedures as applicable.

    • Produces architectural 3D models in accordance with client, corporate and national standards, specifications and procedures as applicable

    • Produces Material Take-off (MTO) based on the architectural deliverable drawings as applicable.

    • Review and analyze received architectural design information and instructions from Senior or Principal Architect or Senior Architectural Designer as applicable.

    • Liaises with Architect on architectural related issues and on engineering related issues.

    • Liaises with allocated Architectural Checker.

    • Liaises with designers from C&S, HVAC, Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation, Vessels and Mechanical group as necessary.

    • Receives guidance from Architect / Senior Architectural Designer if required.

    • The proactive coordination with the supervisors in order to be fully aware of latest applicable codes, standards etc. and keeping assigned Drafting persons informed.

    • The proactive coordination with the supervisors in order to be fully aware of the project Contractual requirements, the implementation of the established Project Procedures and the Foster Wheeler Work Procedures, Work Instructions and Technical Practices.

    • The sharing of the activities among the Architectural drafting team and ensuring that proper information are available at any stage of the work.

    • Keeping the supervisor fully informed of the status of drafting activities.

    • Regular Co-ordination with the assigned Drafting Team to ensure uniformity in design and drafting activities.

    • Ensuring the consistent implementation of all applicable comments in the deliverables and ensuring they are included in the next revision issue of the drawings.

    • The checking of drawings against basis and mark-ups before issuance to the supervisors for further quality checking.

    • Submitting the drawings to the supervisors for checking before issue.

    • Coordinating of 3D modelling activities of the team and with other designers to maintain the clash free model.

    • Keeping up to date records of the progress of drafting activities.

    • Preparing and updating the drawing index.

    • The proactive coordination with the supervisors in order to be fully aware of relevant Project Instructions (Client Advice Notice-CAN, Project Advise Notice-PAN, or Project Action Memo-PAM, or Technical Clarifications-TC) and Design Instructions (DI) are taken care of in the preparation and issuance of all design and drafting deliverables.

    • Assisting the team in site survey, internal model review, and site walk through where required.

    • Assisting in the control and issuance of Advance Revision Notices (ARN).

    • Ensure proper filing of drawings, check-prints, and day files in accordance to the relevant Technical Practices.

    • Adhering to the project design and drafting Quality procedures, Identifying possible non-conformities and referring to supervisors for appropriate corrective actions.

    • Providing "Feedback" to the supervisors any critical design issue/s or conflicts in the design drawings.

    • Observing the ethics of confidentiality on technologies licensed by Client or Third Parties.

    • The Architectural Designer should also perform the duties of the Civil / Structural Designer as and when required by the project.

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Diploma in Architecture or preferably degree in Bachelor of Science in Architecture with 2 to 10 years of relevant experience in Oil & Gas, Refinery, Petrochemical, Chemical, Power Plants, Pharmaceutical plants.
    • Adept in use of Architectural 2D & 3D drafting software such as AutoCad, Microstation, Triforma,. Knowledgeable in AECOsim and other BIM software.

    • Knowledge of Civil / Structural design / detailing for pipe racks and all types of equipment support structures, such as for Vessels, Exchangers, Tanks, Pumps, Compressors, heaters, Columns, Reactors, Package items, etc. and foundations

    • Self-motivated, self-reliant, energetic, taking proactive measure are desired.
