Wood’s nuclear business supports customers in the energy generation, new build, decommissioning and defence sectors.
Our nuclear business has offices in Knutsford and Birchwood in Cheshire, Gloucester, Dorchester, Harwell, Glasgow, Newcastle, Bristol, Cumbria, Reading and London. We also have a strong international presence to support our growing operations in France, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Poland, South Africa and Japan.
Our reputation for safely delivering quality projects on time and on budget is well recognised in the industries we serve. We have proven expertise in managing large, complex projects, a global reach and long-standing UK presence, strong relationships with our customers and cutting-edge processes and technologies.
What that means to you is the opportunity to experience a real variety of projects, working with people from different backgrounds. You'll work closely with our customers and be committed to achieving outstanding results in a stimulating and quality-driven environment.
Wood Nuclear is recruiting Construction Design and Management (CDM) Advisors to be based at our Bristol office. As demand for our expertise continues to grow, an opportunity has arisen for people from an Engineering or Construction background to support the Wood Nuclear business unit based predominantly in Bristol. It is possible that future work will be based in other locations around the UK such as new build construction sites, e.g. Hinkley in Somerset, Sizewell in Suffolk/London, Moorside in Cumbria, and Bradwell in Essex. This role will primarily be to support the UK Nuclear New Build (NNB) programme.
We are looking for candidates from junior level through to senior level. Whilst demonstrable experience of undertaking the formal role of a CDM Advisor would be an advantage for the successful applicant, it is not essential and we are primarily looking for candidates who are self-starters, proactive, capable and willing to challenge senior personnel from the customer and their contract partners.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with an engineering background (mechanical, electrical, process or civil) who are looking to develop and progress in this area. We would particularly welcome applications from those early in their career with the desire to specialise in this field. Experience within the nuclear industry is desirable, however this role would also suit individuals with a background in operations or construction. Previous experience of directly interfacing with customers, regulators (e.g. ONR, Network Rail, or similar), Contractors and industry is desirable.
A wide ranging technical knowledge and educational base are required to ensure the delivery of challenging projects and customer targets.
Ability to gain, and acknowledgment to submit to UK security clearance(s), as required to support project roles, is essential.
