  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is currently recruiting for a Machinery Supervisor with Construction experience in Oil and Gas or Petrochemical plants.


    The Machinery Supervisor will represent Wood on-site at Eni Gela Refinery, to ensure the construction contractors’ activities comply with all aspects of Health, Safety, Environment and Security (HSES) policy, site regulations, permit to work procedures and Client requirements.



    • Check in advance, in cooperation with Material Controller, if the material to be used for the erection of planned works is available and report to SARLUX Construction Manager any deficiency and the information on the approximate arriving date of material
    • Check machinery condition on arrival at site
    • Assist the Material Controller, when required, for the unloading of machinery and checking of the parts that arrive disassembled on site
    • Check that all machineries are protected and supervise the routine maintenance in accordance with AMEC FWI procedure and Vendor's instruction, during erection period. Record of maintenance shall be prepared and filed to assure that the equipment is properly protected and maintained
    • Check the disassembly of machinery accessories before installation
    • Supervise the assembly of machinery
    • Supervise the alignment of machinery in cold condition and in hot condition and issue pre acceptance test certificate
    • Supervise the assembly of accessory circuits and connection of the same with the service lines
    • Check in cooperation with the Piping Supervisor the paralleling of the flange connection with the pipe lines and the efficiency of piping support in order to avoid damage to the machinery.
    • Supervise motor and/or turbine running in and check the right alignment (in cooperation with other Supervisor: e.g. Electrical Supervisor for electrical motor)
    • Check safety circuits and safety provision
    • Supervise and check the lubrication and auxiliary system of machinery in accordance with Vendor's Instructions
    • Keep record of modifications and send to Material Controller information necessary to issue a back charges to machinery Vendor's if necessary
    • Prepare and fill the testing and obtain approval of installation from Client Construction Manager
    • Check pickling of suction line if requested in the specifications


    Skills / Qualifications

    • Excellent communication and presentation skills
    • Good English Language knowledge
    • Minimum 5 years experience in the position
    • Experience in PMC, in refinery and revamping projects
