  • Overview / Responsibilities

    If you are a motivated, driven individual that has a passion for engineering and people, Wood has an accelerated future leadership role for you. Our Project Director needs an Associate to support him and the team in building our Iraq operations.   This position is to be based in Basra.  It is a residential position with no rotation associated with it, so we are only able to consider candidates who reside in Basra and the surrounding areas.

     

    • Maximise the efficiency of the Project Director by undertaking specific projects and routine work under the direct supervision of the Project Director
    • Provide the customer with an excellent service, by delivering projects in a safe manner and to the agreed schedule dates and within approved budgets
    • Strong leadership in all aspects of Project Management, resulting in a positive customer feedback and satisfaction
    • Project Director missions to include resolving issues with minimum intervention and special projects
    • Support the team as required to deliver on time, ahead of requirements in order to delight the customer
    • Drive strategic actions and report on progress
    • Risk Management driver and mitigation effectiveness champion
    • Delivery of individual Project Performance with respect to Schedule, Cost, Safety and Quality
    • Zero defect tolerance
    • Strict adherence to Project Procedures usage
    • Project delivery to agreed schedule dates
    • Report writing to include Executive summaries and report checking
    • Data collecting, analysing and reporting

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Bilingual – fluency in both Arabic and English languages is essential
    • Degree qualification in a relevant discipline (preferably Engineering)
    • Minimum of 8 years experience in project engineering and project management roles in the oil and gas industries
    • Stakeholder management – Establish relationships with key stakeholders and demonstrate skills required to manage for project success
    • Motivates and Inspires others
    • Adaptable and willing to travel regularly between Basra and Dubai
