  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Amec Foster Wheeler has an opportunity for a Procurement Coordinator. There is an increased thrust to deliver our services for the growing Asian market. As a result of this, Procurement Department operation is expanding and evolving to manage the challenges of regional projects that continue to pose challenges in offering our services through a global talent pool.


    • Establish project specific project procurement coordination processes & procedures
    • Assist the Project Procurement Manager in the development of the purchasing, expediting, and trafficking strategy for all equipment and materials from requisition to receipt at final destination
    • Supervise assigned procurement personnel. Establishes and maintains well-defined areas of responsibility
    • Monitor and coordinate purchasing activities and takes appropriate action to assure that the inquiry cycle, purchase approvals, and commitments are in compliance with procedures and project schedules
    • Participate in evaluating suppliers and assists in compiling project supplier lists
    • Assist in preparing, maintaining, and proactive follow-up on all project procurement reports
    • Review all source expediting reports and inspection/quality control reports for clarity, completeness, and required actions
    • Maintain highest ethical and professional standards as established by the organization
    • Ensure that all departmental guidelines are followed

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
    • 5 years progressively responsible experience in procurement activities in technical and engineered equipment environment for O&G projects
    • Direct purchasing of construction projects
    • Ability to prepare negotiation strategies / techniques and participate / lead negotiations
    • Good knowledge of project procurement execution
    • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner
    • Strives to continuously build knowledge and skills; meets commitments
    • Participates in meetings; writes clearly and informatively
    • Malaysian and able to work under 6 months contract
