Nuclear Safety Case Consultant
A unique opportunity within Independent Nuclear Assurance (INA)
INA’s Safety and Risk Methodologies (S&RM) team, based at Birchwood, Warrington, provides nuclear safety assurance and advice to MoD in support of the safe operation of current and future designs of Naval Pressurised Water Reactors (PWR). The S&RM team has detailed knowledge and extensive experience on the use of Deterministic Safety Assessment (DSA) and Probabilistic Safety Assessment (PSA) to justify nuclear propulsion plant and provides a key role in supporting the Royal Navy’s Nuclear Submarine Programme.
INA has a learning culture that recognises the need to maintain knowledge, develop skills and support career progression. Structured in-house training is provided to all involved in this unique programme of work, supplemented by additional external training as required to support individual development needs.

We are interested in applicants who have related skills from within the naval programme or the civil nuclear industry and are seeking new challenges in this exciting and rewarding area of work. Extensive training will be provided, commensurate with this unique role, including training in MoD’s Nuclear Safety Management Arrangements and Naval PWRs.
