  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is currently recruiting a Senior Flow Assurance Consultant to be based in our Reading office on a contract basis.  This person will manage key projects, develop technical proficiency within the company, assist in new opportunities and interfaces with key clients.  You will have a solid technical background and be comfortable being a primary point of contact with senior clients and specialists. 

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Proven willingness to assume responsibility and seek out opportunities
    • Skilled to carry out area of flow assurance expertise by translating guidelines and standards into practical actions
    • Solutions orientated, creative individual, capable of exhibiting analytical skills, process and rigour required to deliver quality solutions
    • Significant responsibility and autonomy. Very competent technically with supervision only required in complex circumstances
    • Ensure all work is undertaken in accordance with the company quality management system
    • Provide guidance and mentoring for more junior staff on simulation and career progression
    • Deliver effective, concise presentations internally and to clients
    • Strong teamwork skills

     

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Previous flow assurance experience in the Oil and Gas industry with an excellent technical background
    • Proficient and hands-on experience with major flow assurance software packages e.g. OLGA, Pipesim, LedaFlow, Multiflash, PVTsim etc
    • A proven track record in working on flow assurance studies during different phases of the project including concept selection, feasibility, FEED and detailed design
    • Proven experience in coaching the junior flow assurance and process engineers
    • Recognised qualification in a relevant engineering discipline or extensive experience in a relative field and a demonstrated ability to be able to perform equivalently to, or better than, reasonably expected of a degree qualified engineer. Advanced degree focussing in the areas of multiphase flow / fluid dynamics / heat transfer / applied mathematics is desirable but not required
    • Good knowledge of HAZOP, process safety and risk assessment
    • Local market knowledge would be seen as an advantage but not mandatory
