  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood (trading locally as PSNK) is currently looking for a Senior PAS (Process Automation System) Engineer to join our team in Tengiz. We are looking for candidates with the drive and commitment to make a genuine difference to our performance to ensure that the company continues to differentiate itself from competitors by delivering quality projects to our client’s requirements.

    This represents an excellent opportunity for individuals interested to work in Kazakhstan, with most assignments expected to be for at least one year’s duration with the opportunity of further extension for the right candidates.


    Reports to the Site Engineering Manager or Hardware Lead.

    Construction Support for Construction Management and Systems Completions (as needed basis)

    Ensuring that the supplied Process Control, Safety Manager and Network Systems are installed correctly, powered up, fully functioning, modified when required and completion of all necessary checks and documentation.

    • Support preparation for Mechanical Completion (MC) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and pre-commissioning checks on process control and safety system cabinets, fibre cabinets, networks, servers, marshalling, consoles etc.
    • Provides specialist support when required for the plant start up and on-going commissioning, for example fault finding hardware related components.
    • Undertake system modifications and associated management of change documentation. Provide and technically verify accurate cabinet redline mark ups.
    • Actively participates in the installation / configuration / implementation & commissioning of Industrial control & safety systems to meet customer specifications and be able to independently implement (unsupervised) significant modification to these systems.
    • Supervise technicians and specialist vendors.
    • Ensure all testing, modifications are executed in accordance with agreed methodologies completing all necessary checks and paperwork.
    • Provides accurate progress reporting and completion status.
    • Responsible for technical validation and completeness of any document redlines (basis for as-building) for the assigned area.

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Technical degree preferred in relevant engineering subject.
    • Trained in Honeywell Safety Manager Systems,
    • 10-15 years experience in Safety Systems engineering, assembly, configuration, testing and completions. Hands on.
    • 5 years experience in working in Construction and Commissioning sites. Hands on.
    • Experienced in Honeywell Safety Manager Systems (hardware and software). Hands on configurations.
    • Experienced with working with integrated client teams.
    • Excellent communications skills in spoken and written English language.
    • Fully compliant with construction sites safe working practices and behaviours.
