Wood is working on a number of exciting major infrastructure projects in the UK and is seeking to recruit talented and ambitious Bat Licensed Ecologists (Consultant, Senior and/or Principal Grade) to join our Southern Ecology Team (Bristol, Leamington, London or Reading offices) in order to support the delivery of these and other projects. Our long established but still growing team delivers high quality ecological services on complex projects in a variety of sectors including transport, renewables, nuclear, other power, waste, minerals and property.
We are looking for individuals with a successful track record in delivering high quality technical work in relation to bats. You will have experience in designing and undertaking bat survey work and will be registered on a Natural England survey licence for bats at Class level 2 or above. In addition to undertaking bat work you will also have the opportunity to undertake a broader range of ecological work. Staff management and/or coaching experience would be beneficial, as would experience of project management, proposal preparation, working with other environmental disciplines, and liaising with clients and consultees.
Wood offers an excellent salary package, including a company car for almost all ecologists, a tailored training programme and great opportunities for career progression.
You will work closely with other ecology team members and with colleagues in other technical disciplines, on a wide variety of projects, which are likely to include Ecological Impact Assessments, Habitats Regulations Assessments, and mitigation and habitat creation, enhancement and management schemes. You will help to manage and deliver our large workload of bat related services across the southern region as well as having the opportunity to undertake a broader range of technical work. Dependent upon your skills, experience and interests, you will coach less experienced staff, and manage projects or tasks within multi-disciplinary projects.
