- Provide quality control checks of all pipeline engineering documents and drawings
- Familiar with pipeline detail engineering standards, including spacing requirements, accessibility, operation, maintenance, crossings and right of way (ROW)
- Familiar with the relevant International Standards, especially with ASME B314 & ASME B318, and able to learn and understand client’s standards and specifications
- Verify that all designs are to required standards and that the objectives of the project are met
- Carry out study and design work using Amec Foster Wheeler and Client design methods, standards and data, to a high quality and in accordance with project requirements
- Ensure that Wood and Client’s Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality Management Procedures are complied
- Ensure that all the produced deliverables are complied with QA / QC and ISO System requirements of Wood

Wood has been recently awarded a PMC project with our client TAPI consisting of a 1,814 kms, 56” trans-country natural gas pipeline running between four countries (Turkmenistan – Afghanistan – Pakistan - India). This project is being developed by the Galkynysh – TAPI Pipeline Company Limited with participation of the Asian Development Bank. Wood is currently looking to recruit a competent and highly skilled PMC Lead SCADA Engineer to be based in client office in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The project is expected to continue for 3 – 4 years.
The SCADA Engineer will be responsible for developing and designing SCADA & HMI installations, network architecture design and sub-system support as part of the Transmission & Distribution Engineering Design team. The SCADA networks to be worked on would be used for controlling, operating and monitoring power generation and transmission/distribution systems including but not limited to substations, wind and solar. Our successful candidate would need to have the ability to work effectively and diligently as an individual engineer and team member in front of both internal and external customers. In this role you will need to be thinking outside the box and be prepared to address challenging areas of customer interface and sales strategies.
Duties:
- Facilitate development, configuration, programming and troubleshooting on projects (substations, solar, wind). This includes fiber-optic and Ethernet networks and switches (WAN and LAN), using both legacy and state-of-the-art technologies.
- Prepare and maintain programs, technical documentation related to SCADA and HMI systems for internal and external clients.
- Support the SCADA Systems for our clients.
- Provide support on SCADA issues and remote monitoring systems
- Client interaction, support on SCADA & HMI products, issues and follow up.
- Assist engineering team to identify root-cause analysis and troubleshooting of SCADA for client issues.
- Travel to project sites for commissioning, maintenance and/or upgrades.
- As necessary conduct factory and site acceptance tests to ensure system specification compliance.
- Suggest product strategies and priorities.

We are looking for a person to co-ordinate with all other disciplines Consultant / Principal and/or Lead Engineers to ensure full compliance of the project design with the requirements specified on project design scope and on the relevant industry standards.
OMPP is a multi-year, multi program venture covering both greenfield and brownfield offshore projects here in Saudi Arabia. The scope of this program includes Engineering & Design, Procurement and Construction Management support
- Applies broad knowledge of principles and practices in Structural Analysis and design as required for the design of offshore structures.
- Has demonstrated contributions and track records in bringing value added to similar projects
